With a thriving local music and arts scene and Kyrgyzstan gaining recognition as a top travel destination, such as being featured in Lonely Planet and CNTraveler, launching Kolfest in 2019 was a natural fit. The success of the 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024 editions affirmed our decision. As we move forward into 2026, Kolfest continues to expand while staying true to its core objectives:

1. Foster sustainable development in the South Shore community of Lake Issyk-Kul.
2. Facilitate cultural exchange between Central Asia and the global community.
3. Promote and support the music and arts scene in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.

We prioritize sustainability and local engagement. Collaborating closely with the community, we feature local food stalls, receive logistical support from local authorities, and enlist volunteers from the South Shore of Issyk-Kul. Moreover, we're actively pursuing sustainable waste management and sanitation practices to raise awareness and offer solutions.
